And the results are in…

After weighing myself this morning (pre-eating, pre-workout) it looks like I’ve lost 4 pounds in the last week! That certainly surpasses my expectations. YES. But, I know that’s the most I will ever lose, so from now on I’m aiming for 1-1.5 pounds a week. At that rate, I could achieve my goal by April? Crazy. That will leave me 6 extra months before the wedding to…gain it all back? Nahhh, just playin’! Geeze, take a joke on a Monday morning, people.

Also, just a quick note on flaxseed. Have started adding this cute little critter to my morning smoothie. I think I’m pretty happy with the result; it doesn’t make it taste any weirder than it already does with the vanilla protein powder. Not surprisingly, the flaxseed was Jenna’s idea. According to WebMD—the officialest of official sources—it has the following benefits:

  • Omega-3 essential fatty acids, “good” fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects. Each tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains about 1.8 grams of plant omega-3s.
  • Lignans, which have both plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities. Flaxseed contains 75- 800 times more lignans than other plant foods
  • Fiber. Flaxseed contains both the soluble and insoluble types.

Well lookee here, that sounds good to me!
